Honduras

honduras relief trip.

Cityfam is headed back to Honduras for our 3rd consecutive year August 12-19th, 2017.  Our 2016 trip was our largest to date, but we want to make 2017 bigger and better so we can make an even greater impact!

Rural Honduras is a place of great beauty as well as significant poverty. In 1998, Hurricane Mitch devastated the community of Choluteca, in southern Honduras. The city has been in recovery mode ever since. We will have the opportunity to continue our partnership with those who have been a vital part of the rebuilding effort. These humble servants run an orphanage, a prison ministry, a school for children with special needs, a child development center for malnourished and at-risk kids, a home construction ministry for families who are living in makeshift shacks with dirt floors, and several entrepreneurial ventures that provide jobs to those who really need them.

Our team will take part in making a home possible for a family living in extreme poverty, along with providing other service opportunities to the community.  No special skills are needed, just a willing heart and a desire to serve. After a 3-hour bus ride from Tegucigalpa, our team will get out of the city and into the more rural areas of southern Honduras. We will stay in nice accommodations with air-conditioning and food prepared by trained locals that's safe and delicious.

Thank you so much in advance for your interest in this relief trip!
