The Official Spring Bread and Cheese Creek Cleanup will be held Saturday, April 2nd from Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM, Rain or Shine. We will be cleaning up the section of Historic Bread and Cheese Creek from the Berkshire Area to North Point Road. Any trash not removed from the stream will flow into Bear Creek and the Chesapeake Bay.
A CityFam Project Lead will arrive by 7:30am that morning to assist with checking in CityFam Volunteers. This event will be run in conjunction with the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay’s Annual Project Clean Stream and American River’s Nation River Cleanup!
This is a family event with plenty of ways for volunteers to participate. They welcome every type of person of every ability level to contribute and assist with the cleanup. Cleanup could include everything from digging out shopping carts and hauling trash to the dumpsters, they will also need people to help run water, food, tools, and trash bags (both empty and full) to individuals in the creek. People to sort recyclables from the debris removed. People will be needed to help at registration, setup food and snacks as well as many other less strenuous activities. The more people we have, the easier the work will be for everyone. Lunch, snacks and gloves will be provided as well.
Once you have signed up and registered you will receive a confirmation letter confirming your registration and the week of March 28th will receive a final confirmation and assigned duties. If you are not able to work in a certain area please note when initially registering.
